What happens to the company bike at the end of the lease?
Takeover?
In good time before the end of the leasing contract, we will check whether it is possible to make you an offer to purchase the company bike. If this is the case, you will receive such a purchase offer from us by e-mail at least three months before the end of your leasing contract. You can reply to the purchase offer using the button contained in the e-mail.
If you would like to take over the bike, you have the option of choosing from various payment methods.
Once you have successfully paid for the bike, you will receive an invoice including proof of ownership. The bike then becomes your property at the end of the contract.
Lease a Bike will pay the tax on the non-cash benefit in accordance with §37b of the German Income Tax Act (EStG), so you will not incur any further costs.
...or not?
You don't want to keep the bike? That's no problem: we can collect the company bike conveniently from your home or your company. We will get in touch with you to arrange this
Instead? New company bike?
Do you already have your eye on a new model? At the end of the contract period, you can use your existing order code to select a new company bike from a Lease a Bike specialist retail partner.
What happens if my continued remuneration is interrupted, e.g. due to parental leave or similar?
When does the installment default protection apply?
If your continued salary payments cease, our payment default protection comes into effect. This may be the case, for example, if you are ill for more than 42 days and receive sick pay or take parental leave. The payment protection covers the leasing installments for a maximum period of 12 months, provided that the leasing contract has already been running for 6 months. In all cases, we will work together to find the best solution for everyone involved, unless one of the options described is possible or applies.
