Damage and theft protection

Employees can choose between the Premium and All-inclusive options and opt for either time or replacement value insurance. In both cases, the bike only needs to be locked.

Premium: In the event of theft or total loss, the leasing contract is terminated. The bike only needs to be locked.
All-inclusive: In the event of theft or total loss, the bike will be replaced at its original purchase value including accessories. The bike only needs to be locked.

Maintenance

Employees can choose between the Basic, Premium or All-inclusive options according to their individual requirements, regardless of the selected variants for theft and damage protection or wear and tear.

Basic: 2 inspections at €85 gross* each
Premium: 3 inspections at €85 gross* each
All-inclusive: 3 inspections at €115 gross* each

A maximum of one inspection can be carried out per leasing year.

*Note: The costs of the inspections are capped: The inspection in the basic and premium variants can be billed up to a gross amount of €85.00. The costs in the all-inclusive variant can be billed up to a gross amount of €115.00 each. If the available budget is lower, the inspection will be invoiced up to this amount. Any additional inspection costs are to be borne by the lessee or user.

Wear and tear budget

With regard to the wear and tear budget, employees can also choose the right variant for them from the Basic, Premium or All-inclusive options.

The wear and tear budget per leasing year is

Basic: €50 gross
Premium: €150 gross
All-inclusive: unlimited budget

It is not possible to carry over the unused budget to the following leasing year.

Selecting the bike

Depending on the choice of dream bike, the price, complexity and type of use of the bike will also differ.

For example, if the employee leases a racing bike as a company bike, it can be assumed that the load on the bike is high due to the number of kilometers ridden. The all-inclusive inspection option and the all-inclusive wear option could therefore make sense for your employees.

With the maintenance option, employees can choose from three different variants: Basic, Premium and All-inclusive. These differ in terms of the number and available budget per inspection.

Employees can also select the wear and tear option according to their individual needs. They can also choose between Basic, Premium and All-inclusive. These options also differ according to the underlying budget for wear and tear repairs per leasing year.

FAQ about all-round protection

: Every Lease a Bike service bike receives an all-round protection package with an individually selected annual wear and tear budget upon conclusion of the contract. We use this budget to cover all necessary repairs to restore operational safety as well as wear-related repairs. This includes the following wear parts, among others:
Tire casing
inner tube
Brake pads
brake disks
chain
Cassette/sprocket
Sprocket
Chainring
Bottom bracket
lights
Brake and shift cables.
: Depending on the inspection option selected, your available budget for inspections per leasing year and the number of possible inspections during the leasing period will vary. The wear and tear budget per leasing year also varies depending on the option selected. The costs for inspections and wear and tear repairs are settled via the budget booked in each case. If the budget is exceeded, you pay the difference. Simply contact one of the Lease a Bike specialist dealers and make an appointment.
: Firstly, a police report is mandatory in the event of theft. Using the file number and the household contents insurance details (if available), the report can then be easily submitted by the bike dealer via our portal.

The specialist dealer can access the online form via the ‘Damage & theft’ button in the menu.
Using this online form, the theft report can simply be submitted digitally.
Once the insurance company has checked and approved the claim, the specialist retailer receives approval and confirmation that the costs will be covered.
Until approval is given, a selection/coordination with the availability of a bike of the same type and quality can take place between the specialist bike shop and the user.
The invoice for the new bike and payment will be issued by us.
The handover of the new bike requires our prior, final approval.

Note on object exchange in the event of theft within the existing contract with a bike of the same type and quality. The new bike must only have the same purchase value, including accessories, as the stolen bike.
However, the company bike will only be replaced if the all-inclusive option for theft and damage protection has been selected. If the user only has the premium option, the current value insurance will apply and the leasing contract will be terminated in the event of theft and the bike will not be replaced.
In order to guarantee that the theft report is processed quickly, it is only submitted by specialist bike shops. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Once the insurance company has checked the claim, the specialist dealer will receive authorisation to carry out the repair and confirmation that we will cover the costs.
