Who is Canyon

One of the most innovative bicycle brands in the world

What once began in founder Roman Arnold's garage has grown over the years to become the world's largest direct-to-consumer manufacturer of road bikes, mountain bikes, triathlon bikes, gravel bikes, city bikes, trekking bikes, and e-bikes. Canyon has earned its literally outstanding reputation as an innovative company through its consistent use of advanced materials, ideas, and technology.

Canyon's characteristic, elegant, and modern design language is unmistakable and stands out from the crowd. In addition to the pure joy of competition and the constant drive for growth, Canyon strives to make the global cycling community accessible to everyone. Canyon supports some of the best athletes on the planet. The shared mission, “Inspire to Ride,” underscores the company's commitment to inspiring people to discover the fascinating world of cycling.

From bicycle repair shop to pioneer of direct sales

Canyon looks back on an exciting development

A small bicycle repair shop founded in the mid-1980s under the name “Radsport Arnold” became a pioneer in direct sales. The first bikes sold under the Canyon name appeared in the mid-1990s, and the transition from traditional dealer to manufacturer took place in 2001. Since then, Canyon has consistently pursued the concept of “design and development in Germany, sales exclusively through direct distribution.”

The company grew rapidly, establishing itself through technological innovation, modern design, and direct customer contact, and is now one of the world's leading premium bicycle brands. The awards it has received—for design, innovation, and corporate culture, among other things—underscore the seriousness with which Canyon has developed its products and processes.

Canyon Aeroad

Aeroad

Born in the wind tunnel and developed for race days, the Aeroad is the benchmark when it comes to pure speed. Its ultra-light carbon frame, precise aerodynamics, and geometry that sets standards in the peloton form the basis—but what really defines the Aeroad is its success. With 38 WorldTour victories, three world championship titles, and countless stage wins, it has proven itself to be one of the fastest bikes in the WorldTour.

Its frame weight of just 960 g and a total weight of 7.0 kg make the Aeroad a lightweight that still delivers maximum stiffness. The wind tunnel data speaks for itself: at 45 km/h, the Aeroad requires just 204 watts to overcome its own air resistance – a figure that leaves the competition behind.
