Bike leasing as employer
Frequently asked questions from employers.
The most important questions at a glance.
What is a company bike lease?
Bicycle leasing is an employee benefit you can offer at your company. With Lease a Bike, you enable your employees to quickly and easily lease their dream bike. The bike of their choice is paid for monthly through payroll deduction from their gross salary. This way, your employees save on social security contributions and taxes. As an employer, you benefit, for example, from greater employee retention and healthier employees. You also contribute to sustainable mobility.

What happens to the company bike during parental leave or a long-term illness?
If continued pay is no longer provided, you can take advantage of our missed payment protection. This applies, for example, when employees are on sick leave for more than 42 days and receive sick pay, or when they take parental leave. Through its payment protection plan, Lease a Bike covers the lease payments for a maximum period of 12 months. If the continuation of pay is interrupted for longer than 12 months, there are also other options available to find the best solution for all parties.

What happens to the company bike when the lease ends?
Three months before the lease agreement expires, employees will receive an email notifying them that the lease term is coming to an end. In addition, well in advance of the lease expiration, we will determine whether it is possible to offer your employees the option to purchase the company bike. If they do not wish to purchase the bike, we will arrange for it to be conveniently picked up from the user or from the company.

What does the comprehensive coverage include?
The user selects one option each for theft and damage protection (including a free Europe-wide mobility guarantee), inspection, and wear and tear, thereby customizing the all-around protection package to meet his or her individual needs. Accordingly, each all-around protection package includes theft and damage protection as well as a budget for inspection and wear and tear.
