Bike leasing for the self-employed
Frequently asked questions from self-employed individuals.
The most important questions at a glance.
What is a company bike lease?
Bicycle leasing is an employee benefit that you can also take advantage of as a self-employed individual. With Lease a Bike, you can quickly and easily lease the bike of your dreams. The bike of your choice is not financed through salary conversion but is generally treated as a business expense. If you are eligible for input tax credits, you can generally claim the sales tax included in the monthly payments. For your specific situation, it’s advisable to consult with your tax advisor.

How long is the lease term for a company bike?
The term of contracts for company bicycles is generally 36 months.

What happens to the company bike when the lease ends?
Three months before the end of the lease agreement, you will receive an email notifying you that the lease term is coming to an end. In addition, well in advance of the lease agreement’s expiration, we will determine whether it is possible to offer you the option to purchase the company bike. There is no entitlement to a purchase offer or to the acquisition of the bike. If you do not wish to purchase the bike, we will arrange for it to be conveniently picked up from your location.

What does the comprehensive coverage include?
You select one option each for theft and damage protection (including a free Europe-wide mobility guarantee), inspection, and wear and tear, thereby customizing the All-Around Protection Package to meet your individual needs. Accordingly, every All-Around Protection Package includes theft and damage protection as well as a budget for inspection and wear and tear.
