Review
Three people, three stories - one goal: to compete together in one of Germany's biggest cycling races. The Lease a Bike Cycling Club 2025 made this possible. Three beginners from completely different backgrounds took on the 110 kilometers of the Hamburg Cyclassics - supported by the WorldTour team Visma | Lease a Bike.
What followed was more than just a training program.
It was a journey into cycling and the power of true community. For Theresa, Ben, and Sebastian, the past few months have been filled with motivation, doubts, progress, new routines, and countless kilometers together. Road cycling in a pack, technical skills, mental strength, nutrition, racing tactics—it was all new and challenging. But in the end, all three crossed the finish line beaming.

Theresa Meyer
Theresa (26, Osnabrück) took the courageous leap from relaxed gravel riding to the world of professional road cycling training at the Cycling Club. She embodies enthusiasm, team spirit, and the conviction that cycling brings people together. It is particularly important to her to inspire more women to take up cycling, because she knows from her own experience that often all it takes is that first step into the “deep end.”
Benjamin Wilke
Ben (33, Fulda) came to road cycling from Brazilian jiu-jitsu and found his new sporting home there. Through the cycling club, cycling became much more than a hobby for him: it became a lifestyle, structure, and daily inspiration. He loves to develop himself technically and mentally and shows how valuable community and mutual motivation are in cycling.
Sebastian Döring
Sebastian (43, Sulingen) has 16 years of cycling experience, yet even for him, the Cycling Club was an extraordinary journey. With his experience, calmness, and team spirit, he became the glue that held the group together. He was particularly impressed by the professional insight into training, nutrition, and racing strategy, and how quickly three strangers became a real team.
Theresa first entered the world of structured training as a gravel rider and discovered how much community and mutual motivation can broaden one's horizons.
Ben found the perfect mix of endurance, technique, and mental strength and made road cycling an integral part of his life.
Despite 16 years of experience, Sebastian experienced something completely new: the spirit of a team that grows together in no time, pushing and supporting each other.
Lease a Bike Cycling Club goes ADAC Cyclassics 2025

This intense experience was made possible by close cooperation with Team Visma | Lease a Bike, professional coaches such as Karin Lambrechtse, Maarten van Kooij, and Nathan van Hooydonck, and all the necessary equipment—from Cervélo road bikes and clothing to support throughout the race weekend.
For all three, the Cycling Club was much more than just a project. It was the start of a new passion, the beginning of genuine friendships, and proof that cycling brings people together. Or, as Theresa puts it:
“Strangers have become real friends.”
In 2026, the Cycling Club will enter its next phase, enabling new participants to surpass themselves.
