The Lease a Bike Cycling Club, Round Two: We look back on this year’s Cycling Club and a successful 2026 road cycling season, capped off by our successful joint participation in the ADAC Cyclassics in Hamburg.
The Cycling Club: More than a training program.
For Jara, Robert, and Daniel, the past few months have been a shared journey full of new experiences, shared adventures, but also solo outings, balancing training schedules with work, raising children, and managing household chores. Together, they’ve experienced and celebrated both doubts and fears as well as progress and successes.
Lease a Bike Ambassadors 2026
Jara Fubel
Working full-time as a paramedic and pursuing photography in her free time, Jara (24) discovered her love for cycling last year and wanted to take the next step by joining the Lease a Bike Cycling Club to meet people who are just as passionate about road biking as she is. She was looking forward to her first experiences in amateur races.
Daniel Hauch
For Daniel (25), a recruiter, cycling used to be more of a means to an end until he bought his first road bike. By joining the Cycling Club, he, too, wanted to take his performance to the next level and, with the help of the coaches and professional guidance, get the most out of himself.
Robert Lichtenstein
For Robert (38), a social worker, finding a balance between daily life, his children, his home, his chickens, and sports was a top priority. For him, cycling isn’t just a privilege for those who have a lot of free time, but just as much for anyone who wants to train and ride competitively despite the demands of everyday family life.
To kick things off, the Ambassadors headed to Bad Iburg in early May for a training camp with road bike coach Andrea Jeschke, where Jara, Robert, and Daniel tackled technical and tactical challenges such as cornering, bottle hand-offs, bunny hops, and riding in a circle.
Another highlight of the summer was the international workshop in Milan with the ambassadors from Sweden and Austria. Before and after the workshop, we ate (a fair amount of) pizza, went for rides on our road bikes, and cheered on the pros from Team Visma | Lease a Bike during the Giro d’Italia from the VIP area.

A complete success
In the run-up to the ADAC Cyclassics, excitement was high. The three ambassadors had set themselves ambitious goals: to complete the 110 km (or at least 100 km) in under three hours. Early in the morning, Theresa, Ben, and Sebastian from last year’s Cycling Club joined us, and together with other members of our team, the Lease a Bike Cycling Club formed an impressive block in the peloton. At the finish line, the atmosphere was fantastic: Not only did all the team’s riders cross the finish line unscathed—they also all managed to meet their target times. It was a day of complete success, symbolic of this exciting and successful road cycling season with the Lease a Bike Cycling Club.
