Towards the next milestone.
In recent years, we have set an internal goal to further develop mobility options for everyday work life. We help companies integrate cycling into their daily work routines and, at the same time, implement our own measures within our company.
Our mission is clear: We want to inspire employees to switch to cycling. We also want to contribute to society by creating and supporting concrete initiatives related to cycling and health.
To this end, we are active in various areas: Society. Planet. People. We develop programs that make it easier for as many people as possible to access bicycles. We also optimize internal work processes, for example, by adjusting our energy usage. Furthermore, our employees are our focus: We make targeted investments in the support and development of our team through concrete measures such as continuing education opportunities and company bicycle leasing.
We implement these measures in our day-to-day business operations.
Supporting everyday mobility
We support our fellow citizens by making it possible for them to use bicycles in their daily lives and by making bicycles more accessible to them, for example, by donating bicycles to nonprofit organizations.
Refine processes
We regulary analyze our operational processes. In doing so, we implement measures to adjust our energy consumption and to optimize internal processes.
Investing in employees
Our goal is to strengthen Lease a Bike in the long term by supporting our employees. This includes, for example, professional development programs and health promotion initatives.
Share our progress
We publish an annual CSR report and provide information about our goals. In addition, we are committed to regulary reviewing our actions and adapting them to new scientific findings and current standards.

Additional activities
Together with our partner Planted, we support the reforestation of mixed forests in Germany. We also support international projects dedicated to the conservation of natural habitats. Our digital company forest provides a transparent overview of how many trees we have already planted as part of this partnership.
Optimize processes
We regularly analyze our consumption data in the areas of energy, mobility, and waste generation in order to make targeted adjustments to our operational processes. This includes, among other things, sourcing electricity from renewable energy sources and gradually converting our vehicle fleet. In addition, we are implementing measures to reduce energy consumption at our locations.
Donate bikes & promote social commitment
As a company, we think outside the box and donate 100 reusable bicycles each year to certified organizations that work to make bicycles more accessible in everyday life. As part of this effort, we partnered with Borussia Mönchengladbach to provide a bicycle safety training program for children and teenagers at the Hephata Foundation. We also support social projects that promote biodiversity, as well as initiatives such as the Bike to Work Days.
Supporting employees
Our employees are the heart of our company. That’s why we support our employees with professional development opportunities and promote health and fitness programs such as Hansefit. We also offer our employees discounted bicycle leasing plans and serve vegetarian and vegan options at team events.

The next step for our company.
The EcoVadis platform is an international provider of assessments of companies’ social and ethical performance. By aligning with this framework, we gain access to valuable insights and benchmarks that help us improve continuously and transparently. In doing so, we identify existing measures and further opportunities for development within our company.
To achieve measurable progress, we rely on clear structures and defined metrics. Our goal of obtaining EcoVadis certification helps us systematically integrate these into our business processes.

Donation for SOS Kinderdorf Düsseldorf: Lease a Bike turns the commute to work into a charity bike ride with "Bike to Work Days"
To coincide with World Bicycle Day on June 3, 2024, the company bike leasing provider Lease a Bike organized the "Bike to Work Days" for the first time. In this fundraising campaign, participants collected kilometers on their way to work by bike for a good cause. Lease a Bike then donated 1 euro to the SOS Children's Village Düsseldorf for every kilometer cycled.

Lease a Bike as a pioneer for bicycle friendliness: Awarded the ‘Gold’ certificate
Since 2017, the German Cyclists' Federation (ADFC) has been awarding the coveted EU-wide “Bicycle-friendly employer” certificate. Now the company bike leasing provider Lease a Bike in Cloppenburg has received the highest award in ‘Gold’.
