Team Visma | Lease a Bike 2025: New stars, big goals and a hot spring
The 2025 season will be exciting for Team Visma | Lease a Bike: top-class new additions, big goals and a full racing calendar. Whether spring classics, Grand Tours or cyclocross - the team wants to attack everywhere. With Simon Yates, Victor Campenaerts and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, exciting developments are on the horizon. An overview of developments and prospects.
New faces in the team
Victor Campenaerts
The likeable Belgian was not only able to impress with entertaining Instagram content at the last Tour de France. The time trial specialist and stage winner of the 2024 Tour de France is strengthening the team with his skills and experience. He is aiming to play a decisive role in the 2025 Grand Tours.
Simon Yates
The 2018 Vuelta winner and experienced Grand Tour rider joins Visma | Lease a Bike after eleven years with Jayco AlUla. Yates is expected to be an important helper for Jonas Vingegaard at the 2025 Tour de France. His goal is clear: to win the title and take 1st place for Team UAE with twin brother Adam.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot
The exceptional French athlete and multiple world champion in mountain biking joins the Women's Team. She is looking forward to her return to the peloton and has clear goals: “With the support of the team, I am sure I can do great things again, so I am very motivated. I want to win the Tour de France Femmes.”
Junge Talente: Niklas Behrens
The reigning U23 world champion is moving from the Lidl-Trek development team to the “Bees”. In his first World Tour season, he will, as U23 national coach Ralf Grabsch predicts, “have to ride in a lot of wind” - but he is nevertheless certain that Behrens will prevail. As a North German, he will certainly quickly feel at home in the difficult weather conditions at the Classics. Niklas Behrens and Linda Riedmann are the only German riders in the team.

Spring classics and first successes
Both the men's and the women's team are committed to the start of the spring season:
Wout van Aert: The Belgian all-rounder has already shown strong performances in cyclocross and is targeting further victories in the spring classics. His racing calendar includes the Volta ao Algarve, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne and the big classics such as E3 Saxo Bank Classic and Dwars door Vlaanderen. The hot phase of the Spring Classics then begins in April: the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix will be particularly exciting this year. We are excited and hope for an injury-free phase before the Grand Tours in the summer!
Fem van Empel: She has already scored several wins in cyclocross, including victory in Benidorm on January 19, 2025.

Outlook for the Grand Tours
The team also focuses on the big tours:
Jonas Vingegaard: The two-time Tour de France winner plans to take part in both the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España in 2025. After an injury-plagued 2024 season, he is aiming to return to his top form.
Simon Yates: He will lead the team as captain at the Giro d'Italia and is aiming for top placings there.
Wout van Aert: In addition to the classics, he also plans to take part in the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France to prove his versatility.

Tour de France: An outlook
The Tour de France 2025 from July 5-27, 2025 promises to be a true spectacle. With a fit Jonas Vingegaard and a Tadej Pogačar in top form, an epic duel is inevitable. But the competition is not sleeping: Remco Evenepoel, who is steadily improving as a Grand Tour rider, could pose a real threat. Tudor Pro Cycling also has ambitious plans and could come up with surprises.
For Team Visma | Lease a Bike, however, the Tour will not only be exciting because of Vingegaard. Wout van Aert, one of the most versatile riders in the peloton, will once again prove his all-round qualities and could be in the hunt for stages. Matteo Jorgensen, who has improved enormously in recent years, will also play an important role - whether as a noble helper or with his own ambitions.
In the end, the Tour will be one of the most exciting in recent years and we can look forward to fireworks from the best cyclists in the world!
Tour de France Femmes: An outlook
The Tour de France Femmes 2025 will be held from July 6 to July 27, 2025 alongside the men's tour and promises exciting competitions. By extending it to 8 stages, the event offers even more opportunities for the best female riders to prove themselves.
With Pauline Ferrand-Prévot joining the women's team of Team Visma | Lease a Bike, the team could play a key role. Ferrand-Prévot has the potential to win the Tour - especially with her strong background in mountain biking and her experience in grand tours.
The Tour de Femmes 2025 will therefore be an exciting race that should put women's cycling further in the spotlight. Other top female riders such as Marlen Reusser and Kirsten Wild are also expected to give their all to claim the coveted yellow jersey.
