Team Visma | Lease a Bike: The 2026 season.
The 2026 racing season ended on a high note for the men's and women's Team Visma | Lease a Bike: With overall victories at the Eneco Tour and the Eneco Women’s Tour, the pros are heading into the winter break. But there were plenty of low points as well; we look back on a season that was like a roller coaster ride.
Dreams do come true.
Spring began and ended on a high note for the men’s team. Wout van Aert fought his way to a long-awaited and hard-earned victory at Paris-Roubaix in a sprint against Tadej Pogacar. Similarly, in pursuit of a long-cherished dream, Jonas Vingegaard lined up at the start of the year’s first Grand Tour: With an overall victory at the Giro d’Italia, the Dane would join a very exclusive club of riders who have won all three Grand Tours at least once. After a dominant performance on every mountain finish, the winner of the Giro was indeed Jonas Vingegaard, much to the delight of all the team’s fans.
For the women’s team, however, things didn’t really get rolling in the spring: Although there were several podium finishes in the spring classics and Monuments—such as at Paris-Roubaix and the two major Flanders classics—the first victory of the season was a long time coming. In June, Femke De Vries secured a stage victory at the Tour de Suisse, breaking the team out of its slump.

A summer low?
The Tour de France was scheduled as the highlight of the season for both the men’s and women’s teams, and both teams were fully focused on winning. For the men, the Tour got off to a promising start: With a victory in the team time trial on the first stage, the race seemed to be off to a great start. Then, however, came a shock on Stage 15: Jonas Vingegaard crashed heavily and had to withdraw from the Tour due to injury. In the remaining stages, Sepp Kuss and Matteo Jorgenson tried to secure a stage win, but fell just short.
For the women, the Tour de France Femmes was a disappointment: The team failed to win a single stage, and last year’s champion, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, played no role in the race for the overall title and withdrew from the Tour early.
Success in fall.
In the fall, both teams seemed determined to make up for a somewhat disappointing summer—which they both did impressively. At the Vuelta a España, the men focused on stage wins rather than the overall title, and managed to secure an impressive seven stage victories, including the green jersey for Wout van Aert. Young star Matthew Brennan stood out in particular, winning five sprint stages. On the women’s side, Nienke Veenhoven won several stages at the Baloise Ladies Tour and Lieke Nooijen did the same at the Eneco Women’s Tour; Nooijen also took the overall victory. She shared the podium there with Victor Campenaerts, who claimed the men’s overall title. The season thus ended on a positive note for both teams.
