Damage, theft, or crash? No problem.

A flat tire, a flickering front light, a figure eight in the rear wheel and, unfortunately, theft are all part of everyday life for cyclists. If it happens to you with your company bike - keep a cool head, no problem! We'll take care of you and your bike. Here you will find all the information you need on theft protection, damage reports and mobility guarantee.

Damage and theft protection

What happens if my company bike gets stolen?

If your company bike has been stolen, a police report is mandatory. Using the file number and the household contents insurance data (if available), the report can then be easily submitted by the specialist bike dealer via our portal .

  1. The specialist dealer can access the online form via the “Damage & theft” menu item. You will be automatically redirected to the Allianz portal. One damage report is possible per contract ID.

  2. Using this online form, the claim can simply be submitted digitally. Select the type of claim and answer specific questions for a complete report. Use Google Maps to specify the exact location of the claim. No changes can be made during the entry process. If changes are made, the process must be restarted. Upload all required documents. 

  3. After verification by the insurance company, the specialist dealer will receive approval and confirmation that we will cover the costs. The current processing status is displayed during the process.

  4. A selection/coordination with availability of a bike of the same type and quality can be made between the specialist dealer and the user until approval.

  5. The invoicing of the new bike and also the payment is done by us.

  6. The handover of the new bike requires a prior, final approval by us.

Note on object exchange in the event of theft within the existing contract with a bike of the same type and quality. The new bike must only have the same purchase value, including accessories, as the stolen bike.

In order to guarantee that we process your theft report quickly, it will only be submitted by specialist bicycle dealers. If you have any further questions, please contact us.

How do I report damages at Lease a Bike?

You can easily report damage via the specialist dealer.

  1. The specialist dealer can access the online form via the “Damage & theft” menu item. You will be automatically redirected to the Allianz portal. One damage report is possible per contract ID.

  2. Using this online form, the claim can simply be submitted digitally. Select the type of claim and answer specific questions for a complete report. Use Google Maps to specify the exact location of the claim. No changes can be made during the entry process. If changes are made, the process must be restarted. Upload all required documents. 

  3. After verification by the insurance company, the specialist dealer will receive approval and confirmation that we will cover the costs. The current processing status is displayed during the process.

Note: In order to guarantee fast processing of the damage report, it is submitted exclusively by the specialist bicycle dealer. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

What should be considered and included in damage/theft protection?

Theft & damage cover applies to all sudden and unforeseeable damage or destruction to the leased object, e.g. due to:

  • theft, burglary or robbery

  • operating errors

  • Simple negligence

  • accidental damage

  • vandalism

  • Design, material or workmanship defects

  • Overvoltage, induction or implosion

  • Storm, frost, ice, earthquake or flooding

  • Damage to the motor or battery

What do I do in case of a crash?

Free Europe-wide mobility guarantee including 24/7 roadside assistance

In the event of a claim, we provide the following services to maintain mobility from a distance of 10 km from your permanent place of residence:

  1. 24-hour service hotline

  2. On-site breakdown assistance including bicycle towing service

  3. Organization of the onward or return journey after an accident

  4. Replacement bike in the event of a breakdown

  5. Bicycle return transport in the event of serious illness

  6. Arrangement of emergency cash for bicycle tours abroad

  7. Arrangement of a bicycle repair shop nearby

  8. Assumption of accommodation costs in the event of a breakdown
