AOK Lower Saxony

At AOK Niedersachsen, company bike leasing is practically de rigueur. As a health insurance company, promoting the health and fitness of its employees is firmly anchored in the company's DNA. And company bike leasing can certainly contribute to this!

Studies show that cycling increases motivation and productivity while reducing sick days. So there's no question that AOK Niedersachsen has switched to bikes together with Lease a Bike. Read on to find out what advantages the company sees in this.

AOK Niedersachsen has been offering company bike leasing for its employees since 2020. HR manager Stefan Altmann reports: “The employees had been asking for bike leasing for a long time, there had been many requests, and in principle it suits us well - we have been offering the ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme to our policyholders for a long time, so it comes full circle if we can also offer bike leasing to our employees.” For employees, this is a great benefit: “You get a bike at a low cost and in doing so, you contribute to health and sustainability. It doesn't get any better than that.”

AOK Niedersachsen is very satisfied with the Lease a Bike process – “one of the simplest we have,” says Stefan Altmann. In addition, Lease a Bike's company bike leasing helps to fulfill the company's goals in the area of sustainability: “AOK Niedersachsen has set itself the goal of sustainability either way. In addition, we conducted a mobility survey a few years ago and found that employees commute 140,000 km to their place of work every day by car - that can be reduced, and bike leasing is a first-class tool for doing so.”

Johanna uses the company bike leasing at AOK Niedersachsen.
"The new bike has increased my motivation to ride my bike a little bit more. I sometimes had to overcome my inhibitions, but now I'm definitely going to ride my bike a little more often, which also improves my fitness level. [...] I would recommend the company bike concept to other people if they are thinking about buying a new bike anyway or, for example, switching to an e-bike if they have a longer commute and can then cover a longer distance with it.”
